Abstract:
High speed network communication with low delay and low power consumption is indisposable for connecting various types of mobile terminals and lots of IoT devices in the digitalization process of a railway freight yard. To meet various business needs of a digital railway freight yard, a general scheme of the digital railway freight yard is proposed by utilizing 5G network slicing, 5G edge computing, D2D communication, 5G network security and other key technologies. In this scheme, the application of 5G mobile networks in such scenarios as supervision and management of operation safety, intelligent freight handling operation, intelligent cargo inspection operation, freight yard resource management, logistics and distribution, and driverless convey, are explored in hope of promoting the digital and intelligent development of railway freight yard, further improving its operation efficiency, and providing the customers with more efficient and convinient modern logistics services.
