Abstract: The rapid development and integrated application of new generation information technology, such as cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, satellite navigation, artificial intelligence and blockchain, drive the digital and intelligent transformation of all walks of life in the world. The development trend of heavy load technology at home and abroad shows that intelligence will become one of the important development directions in this field. Heavy haul railway is a complex system with multiple modes of transportation, close linkage, strong continuity and high coordination. It is facing great challenges in the aspects of continuously ensuring transportation safety, improving transportation efficiency, reducing transportation cost and enhancing customer service. Combining with the application and development situation of new information technology of foreign heavy haul railway, based on the analysis of the characteristics and requirements of heavy haul railway business, this paper put forward the connotation and overall framework of intelligent heavy haul railway, gave the composition of typical business applications, introduced the implementation and application of the typical intelligent system of Hao(lebaoji)-Ji (an) Railway, and proved that the research results of the overall framework play an important role in the innovation and development of heavy haul railway.
