Abstract: Rail transit has changed the way people travel and is an important part of the urbanization process. Its buildings have large passenger flow and high space density, which not only carry the traffic function, but also carry the function of external communication. At present, there are few studies on the cultural display of public space in transit buildings in China. The internal culture display of the building is mainly realized through the later decoration. In the overall design, it stays in a simple and single design, which makes a separation between culture and public space; in the space design, although the wall, column, ground decoration, but not really combined with cultural characteristics, slightly abrupt. Taking the station buildings along the Beijing-Zhangjiakou railway as an example, this paper explored the display method of the integration of public space and cultural display of transportation buildings in the construction stage. Through on-the-spot investigation and visit, the paper sorts out the cultural display methods of public space of rail transit buildings along Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway from three aspects of cultural theme selection, cultural symbol extraction and cultural expression, which can provide reference for future cultural display of public space of rail transit buildings.
