Abstract: In recent years, Urban Transit was expanded in major cities, it is the most effective way to improve the urban traffic travel conditions, and greatly reduce the traffic pressure. The station of Urban Transit station is a densely and popularly public place, its security work is very important to protect the public’s life and property. The advanced and reliable video surveillance technology plays an important role in the security work. This article introduced and analyzed the structure and characteristics of the Digital Video Surveillance System which was mainly used for Urban Transit, summarized and prospected the future development of the System in the Urban Transit industry.
