Abstract: Considering the increasing development of automation and artificial intelligent (AI) technologies in the Railway Ticketing and Reservation System, the AI technology was used on the ticket issuing machine (TIU). This paper introduced the theories and implementation method for the recognition of railway ticket number. In detail, the steps of image processing, characters data training and recognition were discussed. And at last, the feasibility was proved with the experimental results.
