Abstract: This paper studied the current situation of railway freight commercial insurance, combined with the insurance process of commercial insurance and the actual operation characteristics of freight information system, and designed the commercial insurance service platform for railway freight according to the insurance needs of railway customers. The paper used the design concept of micro-service to construct a freight premium calculation model, implement the rapid online of insurance products, and guide customers to apply for insurance while putting forward cargo transportation requirements, used report tools to analyze customers' transportation needs and insurance intentions, and assist insurance business personnel to make marketing decisions. The commercial insurance service platform for railway freight has been popularized and applied in some railway administration group companies. The application results show that the platform has positive significance in improving the quality and operating efficiency of railway freight transportation service and enhancing the competitiveness of railway transportation market.
